This informational text series uses short, but complete sentences to convey the history and facts of each featured location.
For reluctant readers who have enjoyed previous Sound Out Chapter Book sets, here is a new non-fiction series at the Sound Out 5 and 6 Level. Each phonics-based chapter book in the City Secrets series gives reluctant or beginning readers a chance to explore a sinking city, a floating town, underground streets, an icy outpost, and even a secret base inside a mountain!

The six-book set includes the following titles:

With all Sound Out Chapter Books, students have a chance to read engaging informational text while the controlled vocabulary helps them practice phonics and basic word-building skills. Sound Out Level C introduces the following skills: one-syllable spelling patterns, word endings, compound words, prefixes and suffixes, and simple two-syllable words.

Each book is 32 pages with 20 point type.
